Yay for Christmas picture season:)
My favorite thing about people pictures is eyes - I'm really happy with the way these turned out. I'm also beginning to learn how much eye color is a reflection of the surrounding environment - hence the blue of the bottom picture and the gold tones of the top.
Processing on the first one - diffuse glow and several layers at different opacities - then I erased the pupils to make the original eye color visible.

Especially the top one... very professionally made. I agree about the eyes, and the processing you did is also my favorite technique. The bottom one... I like how the stone "spine" completes the diagonal of the frame.
