Oarsmen - Kaohsiung

This weekend was the annual Dragonboat festival in Kaohsiung Taiwan, Portland Oregon, and many other places I'm sure. Considering the torrential rains pounding us right now, it was a miracle to have a few clear hours to watch the boats and crowds!

Little Fan - Kaohsiung

There is a team leader who sits on the dragon head, a drummer, a rudder-man, and the oarsmen. Other than the we-will-rock-you drum beat, it's very similar to a short crew race.

Funny that you should mention Portland - I was going to say that some of the pics posted on shutterfly look a LOT like Portland's Rose Festival. You'll have to go some year when you're feeling nostalgic!

Althouhg I don;t like dragons at all, (I know it part of the culture but I still don't like them) This reflection is so beautiful, and I am pretty sure that U already know that reflections just drive me crazy.
