16 Weeks - Pingtung

Yesterday was such a strange day. I woke up to an email that my grandmother is having lung surgery (thank you all for your kind notes - strangely I have no definite news - it's in another city and I don't have a way to call in - but the fact that I haven't heard anything probably means it went well). Then we went over to the hospital to get an update on Dot, who has a strong, regular heartbeat, brand new eyes, and strong little legs that she won't uncross to show if she's really a boy or girl! The ultrasound was absolutely wild - like watching a Discovery Channel program. You could alternately see her brain, spinal column, and heart depending on the angle, with her little arms and legs waving around the whole time. We are thrilled that's she looks healthy and is growing on schedule. Here's the 12 week picture. If we could zoom in closely, she would probably look something like this:

Probably could have gotten a really cool image if I didn't leave the ISO at 100 (oops)

I hope that you get good news about your grandmother soon.

Dot looks like a girl to me. Can't say why. She just does. :)
