Trash Man - Pingtung

Garbage time is a big community bonding experience. The truck plays a loud song like the ice-cream truck at home to announce its arrival. The neighborhood heads down to the corner - kids in their cartoon pajamas, adults chatting about life. I know the majority of the people in our three-hundred apartment complex simply because of this simple nightly ritual!

The first challenge is to get your trash into the truck without being sprayed in the face by the compactor. Another challenge is to get the right trash in the right place - the blue containers are for organic waste, there are 3 divisions of recycling, and another truck following behind for bulky items.

Canon EOS 20D

Shooting Mode
Aperture-Priority AE
Tv( Shutter Speed )- 0.8 seconds
Av( Aperture Value )- f/18.0
Metering Mode - Partial
Exposure Compensation - 0
ISO Speed - 3200
Lens - 18.0 - 55.0 mm
Focal Length - 55.0 mm

Raised contrast - I used the horrible image-killing ISO 3200, and it turned out decently for these two. If I wanted to retain the people and keep a narrow aperture, there wasn't any other option. On another series I've been doing in the nasty fluorescent light of a hospital the quality reduction was very prominent.

Interesting what you say. In my neighborhood the garbage is collected in the morning, when nobody is at home. So people leave it in the street the night before or in the morning before going to work/school, and it magically disappear when people is back.

Funny how something like taking out the trash can have that much interest to it!
